This is the Chongqing edition of the newspaper which started in 1938 as the newspaper fled the Japanese invasion. In the wake of the Japanese invasion, the newspaper suspended publication in November, 1937 and was published in Chonqing starting in 1938 and in Chengdu from 1943. Xin Beijing (新北京 New Beijing) was established originally as Xin Beipingbao (新北平報) in 1931 before changing its name in June 1938. The newspaper was published in Beijing during the wartime Japanese occupation of ththe city and was shut down during a consolidation of newspapers in the city at the end of 1943.
